Anyone who ever said moving is the most stressful thing to do….
…never tried to lease a new car at the end of the model year.
Why you ask?
Because there isn’t anything good left on the lots, that’s why.
Went to the dealership on Wednesday to drop of the man’s driver’s licence info so that he can drive the loaner we got. They told us that Ford has stopped taking orders on 2008 Fusions so we could either A) wait 4 months for a 2009 or B) take delivery on the one other car in the province that has *almost* all the things we want included in it. The salesman, lets call him smarmy salesman #1, would bring it in from a dealership across town, charge us less for the lease because it has fewer toys in it, and we’d be on our way by Saturday.
Now, here’s the kicker.
The car we thought we were getting, that we went to the car dealership last night to do the paperwork on before we were to pick it up tomorrow, fell through. The guy at the dealership across town, lets call him smarmy salesman #2, wouldn’t transfer the car we wanted to smarmy salesman #1.
Long story short, we got our deposit back from ss#1 and I now have to drive almost 50km across town in crappy rush hour traffic to go see ss#2 to get the car directly from him.
This just isn’t my week.
