Our Wedding Cake

Yesterday was our first anniversary.  We had a nice day, didn’t do anything too special, just regular weekend stuff around the house.  We did go to The Keg for dinner though.  I had a Teriyaki sirloin steak which tasted amazingly good.  Then we went home and dug into the remains of our wedding cake which had been frozen after our wedding last year.  We had the top 2 tiers left, Strawberry shortcake and chocolate mousse.  It tasted pretty good considering it was just thawed and a year old, but hubby’s sketchy stomach apparently rebelled in the night (not unusual for him) and I suspect he’ll likely go for another slice today since there’s plenty left an he can’t resist cake.  After cake we watched Jumper while he fell asleep on the couch.  Like I said, a nice but simple day.  We reflected a little on the past year as man and wife and came to the conclusion that we’re doing well considering the crazy things that have happened to us over the past 12 months, and that we’re ready to take on whatever the next 12 months bring.
