Had my gynedoc appointment today. There was a note in her office today telling her patients that she is taking a leave of absence so the woman I saw today, gynedoc2, is now officially the 5th medical professional I’ve had handling my case (not including, of course, the millions of tech and nurses who have been getting close to my naughty bits on a regular basis for the last year and a half or so). But I digress.
The results of my MRI were good. I do have what appears to be a “wedge” of “endo plaque” on my bowel, but my uterus and ovaries appear to be clear. Gynedoc2 said that I could be referred to an Internal Specialist to have it removed. We talked about it a little bit and in the end we agreed that if I’m not having any major issues with my bowel movements that I shouldn’t worry too much about it being a serious factor in the infertility.
Yay! – No surgery!
Gynedoc also said that my ovaries looked fine and that they had a lot of follicles which are consistent with someone who is producing eggs but not popping them on a regular basis. She also said that the endometrial biopsy showed that my lining is “disordered” which means that the lining is building each cycle, but because I’m not ovulating it’s not shedding, it’s just kind of there, each cycle, all uneven and stuff. Other than that, nothing to worry about. Oh, the MRI also showed a ½ inch fibroid that is minor and shouldn’t be causing me any problems.
They are sending all of my test results to the fertility clinic so that my fertiladoc can have them as reference for my appointment on Wednesday. All in all, my issues are looking more and more to be hormonal.
So, in the end, today was a day of good news!
One appointment down, one to go!
