Today was my regular monthly appointment at the OB’s office. The appointment went well (as well as a 5-minute drive-by appointment can go) but my Dr. did tell me about some concerning results from my Ultrasound last week. Apparently, little peanut has a Choroid Plexus Cyst which is a cyst in the brain caused by an excess build up of fluid in the part of the brain that makes brain and spinal fluid. It’s not a serious condition according to my Dr. but he is sending me for a follow-up ultrasound in 2 weeks to monitor it. I’m trying not to worry since the stuff I read said that these things tend to disappear by around week 32, but still, it’s concerning. I just want my baby to be ok.  I read that people with this condition don’t end up with any kind of disability, but often people with this have Trisomy 18 or 21 and this is one of the markers for those genetic anomalies. I don’t think this baby has either of those defects, I’m sure my Dr. would have told me if that was a concern weeks ago when we had the NT scan, so hopefully this is just one of those things that eventually goes away on its own.

Otherwise, all is well in peanut land. Heart rate is great and I have only gained 1 lb since my last appointment 4 weeks ago.

Also, the Dr.s file knows if we are team pink or team blue. I still haven’t decided if I want to know, so I told him not to tell me. If I change my mind, though, the answer is only a phone call away.

Tomorrow is the big day!

In other news my new blog is almost ready! It should be up and running in a day or two. It looks beautiful! A big shout-out to Christina over at Visual Luxe.com for doing such a beautiful job! Can’t wait to show it off!

Bit of a victory on the nap-time front. I had just gotten into the shower when the preshus woke up from his nap. Since he opted not to cry I left him there while I finished up and miracle of all miracles, he eventually fell asleep again all on his own! Finally! Some crib success after almost a week of crib-time hell. Fingers crossed that the same thing happens 6 hours from now. I seriously hate 3am. It’s not right to be awake at that hour. Seriously.

Today I took the preshus to have his picture taken with Santa. We got the good Santa again this year with the real beard and the nice attitude. Tomorrow I’ll be ordering our Christmas cards from Vista Print, the same place where I got a bunch of stationery for our wedding a few years back.  I also get my return address labels and my Christmas present tags from them every year. Yes, I love stationery. Any excuse to order personalized stuff and I’m all over it.

I also stopped at the beauty supply store to buy some hair. My twists have been sadly neglected for months now and need to be redone. Since I’ll be home for the next few days with no errands that need to be done I’m hoping that the preshus will be kind enough to be a good boy and let me fix my hot mess of hair. Normally I’d spend 8 or 9 hours straight doing it but since I’ll be chasing after him all day it will likely be me, him and my hair for the next 2 – 3 days.

All fingers and ties are accounted for. Didn’t find out if we’re team pink it team blue. Heart rate was in the 150′s.
